As women image is very important to us, we take pride in trying to make sure we look the best we possibly can with what we have. Nowadays this is proving to be quite the opposite, we are living in a society where we have to “compete” to look good, why?
All I can say is young child do YOU!
Insecurities are a major part of our lives ladies and gents; Physically and emotionally aargh, really sucks right?! Growing up is making me realize that I’m stressing about things that are sometimes beyond my power. I’m slowing accepting the things I can’t change about myself like my small boobs, stretch marks and cellulite. Its Ok, I am who I am. The challenge here is to change your attitude! A bad attitude towards yourself is very toxic and that’s what one needs to change. All those flawless “perfect” pictures we see on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and magazines are all filtered and altered to look like that. You cannot filter real life boo, embrace your imperfections.
We tend to look at someone and admire them and strive to be like them and want the things they have and in doing so forget our own blessings. We are all blessed in different and unique ways and its time we cherish those blessings. There is nothing wrong in being motivated or inspired by someone but it becomes an issue when you lose yourself and vision trying to look like them or living a lifestyle you cannot afford. Looking down on yourself because your body doesn’t look like theirs or you don’t have the things they have. We all go through this and its such unnecessary pressure on ourselves don’t you think?
One thing in life as a young adult or even teenager is that you need to come to terms with the fact that we all blossom at different seasons in our lives. One person may seem to have everything and are just prospering in life and you are going through rejection after rejection. Don’t let that season in your life define you. Joy will come; believe, have faith and pray. Remember God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.
Live among your means, stay in your financial lane they say hahaha, yep its true. Its so hard I know but its very helpful. This is why young girls turn to older men for financial gain which is a major problem but this is a topic for another day.
So ladies, go look in your mirror right now and tell that reflection that “YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND I’M GOING TO START EMBRACING MY IMPERFECTIONS.” Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise because they have bigger issues to deal with. 🙂
